Hi, I am having a hard time getting to sleep lately. I should be between 4-5 weeks and I swear, all I do is toss and turn at night. Any body know what is going on. I thought I was supposed to sleep more not less!!!!

I just went through this. I am now 22 weeks and sleep great. The best thing that helped me sleep was to sleep by myself. I could not share a bed with my husband. I would sleep downstairs in the recliner or sleep in the spare bedroom.

I had insomnia but it was due to my increased sense of smell (everything reeked) and the fact that I was lying around all day feeling fatigued. It is difficult to sleep when you do nothing but lounge. It was the worst from weeks 6 to 12. There was a point when I would nap from 11am till 2pm and I had to drag myself from the bed to the shower. The second trimester is bliss:) The third, the insomnia returns due to the pain your body feels from the baby placing pressure on your organs, ligaments and ribs.
