hey there, i live in hawaii, my hubby's in the army. we just found out we're 4 weeks preg. we're about to pcs though (to alaska) but the as for the doctors, they really haven't seen me because its too early (i don't know why they do that) but they rather see us at like 8-12 weeks i think. what else did u need to find out?

are you on the island of oahu? are you going to be going to trippler? i just was wondering if i should pay the extra money to go out on town for a doctor instead. what do you think?

amy w - June 10

oh yeah and what base to you go to for your PCM?

lashunda - June 10

i went to schofield but i think tripler is the "main" military hospital to go to. that where u would go when giving birth. i'm really not sure about the doctors off base because hey, why pay extra if your husband is already paying for medical right? are you having problems with the military doctors?

lashunda - June 10

oh yeah, how far long are you and how long will you be living on oahu?

amy w - June 10

yeah...pretty much, and i am not too fond of the care at trippler...for starters, it is always dirty, and when i thought that i was pregnant...due to a falty test, and had to go to the E.R there (lol...long story) the doctor was really rude...and they had left the needle in my arm that they took blood from (it was in my wrist not my arm lol), and then when the guy removed it, he didnt even use a glove...whats that all about. also, i have had two prior miscarriages, and they are so busy there that i dont think that the care that i want is avaliable from them since they have soooo many people to see. that could just be the whole island though, who knows. i go to makalapa for my PCM, and they didnt do the right blood test...they ended up doing the qualatative one, not the quantative...and i had a faint positive line on HPT...and of course that one came back negative...so i am just kind of irritated, and confused at this time. are you getting the care that you feel you need right now?

btw congrats on your pregnancy! i dont know if i am truly pregnant or not at this point lol that is what is so frusterating...i would have to speculate that i would be only around 3 weeks or so though.

oops - June 10

oh yeah i forgot...i will be here until june of 06...how soon are you leaving?

lashunda - June 10

hey, well geez, if thats the case, you should go see another doctor off post, lol. i haven't been to tripler since my last miscarriage which was about two yrs ago. all i remember was that it was a long wait and to tell u the truth, and the next day i had to do an d&c and they told me i had cysts in my cervix but that was it. the staff wise was okay but i don't think i was paying attention to them cause i was just crushed about my m/c. we'll be leaving here at the end of this month. been here since dec 2001. i actually found out i was preg (3 weeks) using the ept digital. then i went on post to take a urine to confirm so maybe u could be, have u tested yet?

amy w - June 10

yeah the HPT...and the wrong kind of blood test lol...i did another test today at home, and i got another faint positive...i am going to call makalapa and make an appointment with my PCM so that she can order the right blood test...i am already a week late, so i am going to keep my fingers crossed, but try not to get my hopes up too much ya know? WOW this month already huh? are you happy to be leaving? at least you will be going to alaska while it is nice weather there, that way the change in weather wont be that shocking lol! my husband is actually pulling into homer alaska on the 10th or 12th of august, i was thinking about visiting, but my best friend from back home is coming on the 13th, so it wont work lol. do you live on base or out on town? and one last question lol...where are you from origionally?

amy w - June 10

gosh! i am such a scatter-brain today lol. i also had meant to say that am sorry about the miscarriage, i have had 2 of them myself.
