Yes they are very common during pregnancy. During the first trimester your doctor may or may not prescribe medication. You may also be directed to get an over-the-counter (OTC) medication for it. After your first trimester it is ok, check with YOUR ob/gyn for verification, to get an OTC medication. Yeast infections closer to delivery, the doctor will probably want to treat immediately. Although the health risk to a healthy baby at this point is minor, there is a possibility that your yeast infection will be transmitted to the baby.
