Aspirin Met And Progesterone During Pregnancy

AZ - March 2

I have PCOS, have had 2 miscarraiges and currently am 9 weeks, 1 day pregnant. Have had 2 ultrasounds, good growth and heartrate both times (yay!). My concern is that, I have been told to discontinue the aspirin, progesterone and metformin after my 12th week. Can this be safe? These drugs got me to this point; can stopping them cause miscarriage? Anyone out there had similar meds and continued or discontinued?

I have been unable to reach that point so far, but from what I have been told (and read), after week 12, the placenta takes over and the need for meds decreases since the body begins to support the pregnancy at that point. I can totally understand where your anxiety about this comes from! I would be the same way! Just hang in there. Ask them to make sure to check your hormone levels, blood, etc. before taking you off of this stuff. Also, I do not know anything about PCOS, so there may be more cause for concern, but at the end of the day, I believe week 12 is the point where things start to work "on their own". Best of luck to you and CONGRATS on your pregnancy!! Take care! :o)
