I had my doctor's appointment today. Apparently I have some type of va___al abrasion. Neither the nurse pract_tioner nor the doctor could get the speculum in enough to conduct a full pelvic exam. The va___al swab that they did just with the long cutip had some blood on it, same color as the bleeding from a few days ago. I had two vials of blood taken and had to give urine. First thing tomorrow morning, I'm having a STAT ultrasound to check for PID and ectopic pregnancy. And then, depending, I may immediately have to see a specialist of some sort. I am deeply worried about what this all might mean, what it is, what will happen to my reproductive system....I've never had anything like this happen to me before, and I'm having trouble imagining anything but the worst. So, what would it mean for me if I had PID (got me as to how I would have gotten it. . . . ), an ectopic pregnancy, va___al cancer, or what?

Pid is caused by either Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, or it can be infected by douching, IUD, or just germs getting into the genital track. It is treatable but unfortunately a very common side effect is infertility. 100,000 women a year become infertile due to pid. Treatment early is key. Ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy outside the uterus, in your fallopian tube. It can cause your tube to rupture. Many women go on to have healthy normal pregnancies after an ecotopic. Pid is often mis diagnosed as ecotopic.
