i had my scan yesterday and i was told that i have a heart shaped uterus with the baby in the right side. the midwife was completely unconcerned and told me there was nothing to worry about. im 13w 2days and the baby was bouncing about a nd waving its arms so it seems healthy.

i saw one other post here a while back that said something about "heart-shaped uterus". maybe there's comments on there, if you can find it, with people who know more about it personally. it's obviously nothing of concern, that would be kinda cool. your baby is being held by a heart. you should feel special. lol. good luck.

thanx for your help

lol @ "your baby is being held by a heart. you should feel special"..actually i think it's cute also. I never heard it before but if your baby is still kicking then i think everything is perfectly fine. I wander what causes the uterus to misshapen itself.

i was told that my uterus didnt fuse properly when i was developing. about 5% of women have the same thing but all the info i have found is about really severe cases. it was making me a bit paranoid. i think its cute that my baby lives in a heart !

i read lots of stuff saying that i should have truble concieving but i got preg very easily and by accident so its all a bit confusing to me.

So in that case, it's not normal to have such misshapen uterus. Well if your midwife told you there is nothing to worry about then it's best to take that advice in which i rather get info from a doctor instead to be absolutely sure. I hope everything goes well Les22! = ]

Congratulations on your babies! I can only add that although a c-section is not the optimal birth choice and recovery is a bit more difficult, it is not as bad as some say. I have had to have 2 c-sections and was up and about after just a day or two tops. The key is making yourself get active quickly. I wish you much luck and a healthy baby!
