im 34 wks pregnant and been told its a big baby, already 49 cm long, will it mean it can come earlier?

It could. One thing to note however is, doctors are notoriously wrong about the size of the baby. Maybe your due date is off and you're farther along then you think.

I had an 8 lbs. 13 oz. baby girl that came 1 day before her due date.

They induced my sister four weeks early and she had an 8 lb 14 oz baby girl. If she had carried to term they said she would have been between 10 and 11 lbs. YIKES!!

I was induced 11 days early. Daughter was 10lbs 3ozs. I posted a question under LGA babies. Does controlling weight gain = smaller baby? I know the theory, but does it work?

Hey my best friend had a big boy. She always looked 2 months ahead of her time and the doctor said if she had him early he's be fine. He was 10 days late! 10lbs. 5.5 hours of pushing!!! (she was determined to not have a c-section, worked too far to get this far and settled with forceps) I'd go with the c-section (she's taking along time to heal) Good luck!!!!!!!

On your first time giving birth, do most go over their due date or early?

Doctors and midwifes knew all along i was going to have a large baby (almost 10lb) but i still went 2 weeks over. he was 54cm long and i was only in labour for 3.5 hours with only 30 minutes of pushing. Good luck :)
