Braxton Hicks Contractions

Hi there, I'm 17 weeks pregnant. This is my fourth baby. I think for the past week or so I've been getting gentle braxto hicks. I got them so strong with my other babies, but they seemed to start further along than this, then got stronger as the pregnancy progressed. I have really quick labours - last one was 45 min. I'm worried that if they are Braxton hicks, that will mean an even faster labour because they've started so soon. Has anyone else experienced them at this stage or earlier? I actually acn't remember exactly when they started with each of my past pregnancies, but I don't think it was this early...any advice?

I started noticing very gentle ones at 16 weeks also. I am now 32 weeks, and boy, are they a lot stronger now! I get them ALL the time, too. My mom had a lot of BH and very fast labors (her last was also 45 minutes), so I'm wondering if that's what's in store for me also. Just so you know, my midwife wasn't concerned about my BH starting so early once she ruled out dehydration, UTI, and v____al infection. She said it's rare, but some people just have a lot more than others, starting a lot earlier. I'm sure you're fine, especially since you had so many the other three times. Good luck!

With my first, I almost never had braxton hicks at all...maybe one or two here and there. With this pregnancy though at 33 weeks I get strong ones all the time!! And, same as Alycia, infections and dehydration are ruled out. I wonder if it's going to mean a faster, easier labour this time around? I hope so... with my daughter I was in labour for 36 hours!!
