You don't "need" to purchase anything, though most women use pumps. There's a huge variety of pumps available to suit your particular needs. I personally use an Avent Isis handpump, but I'm a stay-at-home mom, and am rarely away from my baby. As far as storage of b___stmilk...I *believe* it can be kept at room temp for 4 hours, in a fridge that's opened frequently for 3-4 days, in a freezer that's opened occasionally for 3 months, and in a deep freeze that's opened rarely for 6 months. Once it's thawed, it cannot be refrozen; also, don't pour new milk on top of frozen milk. www.kellymom.com is a great resource for any more questions you have.

Oh yah - you will want to have at least one good nursing bra - it should be supportive, but not restrictive, and you should be able to unhook the cups with one hand while holding a screaming baby with the other. You might want to look into nursing gowns or nursing tops, though I personally just wear looser clothing. Also, you'll want b___st pads for the first 2 or 3 months, before your supply regulates to your baby, cause you'll leak alot.
