Often times I look at a question that has been posted and sometimes people reply "Bump." What in the heck does bump mean???? Maybe I am stupid but I just dont get it and would love for someone to explain. The last one I looked at said bump and another person replied "Cant you tell by the bump that your being trolled". What???????

I do it if I don't get a response and my question keeps going lower on the list. I just bump it up so people see it again and it usually gets answered. Some people like to bump really annoying and rude topics just to start things up I think. Othewise I notice women do it because their question isn't getting answered and people are posting a lot that day so it easily gets send to the next page etc.

"Bump" means to bump a thread to the top.

Go to the forum "signs of pregnancy" where I just bumped to the top of the list some of the most commonly used lingo on this forum.

If you're still confused, think of it this way: If no one answers your post, then it tends to fade away to the second and third pages of posts where maybe not everyone will look. Putting "bump" in a post makes it the last post replied to and it gets moved to the first page, where more people will see it. The actual word "bump" lets people know that no one has replied in a while and you want that post put on the top of the list. Understand?
