for various reasons I haven't been able to take my prenatal vitamins.. I have only taken them for like 2 months..could there be a problem if I didn't take them for the rest of the pregnancy??

Well, it's certainly good that you did take them, even for a short time. Is it possible for you to take a regular vitamin instead? I do know a few women that stopped taking prenatals because it made them very ill, and had no problems. I would stress how important your diet would be, however! Folic acid and all the necessary nutrients are so important! However, I bet there are women all over the world that do not take prenatals (and, of course, from all the generations before us)! Good Luck!

with my first I didnt take them at all. He is very healthy and 4 now. I did take them almost everyday with this pregnancy and now I am 34 weeks. Like Kris D said so many woman all over the world probably did not take them and what about all the woman form decades ago.If you eat healthy that should be good... I dont always eat my veggies and fruits so I need some help with the vitamins.

yes, if you do not have enough folic acid you can cause birth defects. you might want to go to the marchofdimes.com which stresses the use of prenatal vitamins!

I KNOW DR'S HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE THEM BECAUSE ANYTHING HEALTHY GOING INTO YOUR BODY THE BABY BASICALLY TAKES IT. THEY ARE MOSTLY NUTRIENTS THAT YOU NEED TO STAY HEALTHY. KEL
