You can only "Miscarry" until five months, after that it isn't called a miscarriage any longer, it's called a valid birth and you have the option of a funeral service, etc. It's possible to lose the baby at any point during your pregnancy and even at birth however, your risk of miscarriage goes down tremendously after 12-13weeks. Also, a miscarriage more often than not has nothing to do with what the mother-to-be did as opposed to a still birth later on in pregnancy. A death like this can be the result of something the mother did (i.e.: drugs, alcohol, an accident etc) or an illness or issue with her body (related or unrelated to the pregnancy). If you lose a baby at four months pregnant, it isn't like miscarrying at only 8wks pregnant. The baby is quite recognizable in features and size at that age and if she pa__sed it through her v____a, she'd know it! It would be highly dangerous to her health not to see a doctor for an ultrasound to ensure that she is clear of not just the entire fetus but, the placenta too. If she wasn't, they would perform a D&C which is what is used in early-term abortions. If she's not lying, tell her to go to a hospital.
