Hey gurl I have three children my first pregnancy I had a period for the first trimester of my pregnancy and I was having twins. My doctor was concerned but after i had them he was shocked and happy my boys were fine they both weighed in at 7.5lbs each. My twins had broken a birthweight record for my state for multiple births. My second child I had a period for the first two months and she weighed 9lbs at birth. If I were you and a period occurred during my pregnancy I wouldn't worry unless it was during the second trimester.

Yes, it's true that you can get a real period while pregnant. It's not often - but it does happen. Also, some people have been known to spot for month 1 and 2 off and on. So both these senarios are possible. Hope that helps.
