I heard that it is dangerous to change cat litter if you are pregnant, can anyone confirm this?

Definitely not good for pg women to clean kitty litter. Its called Toxoplasmosis. If you have had cats for a while, chances are you are immune to it. However, it can cause all kinds of problems in a developing baby (blindness and respiratory problems are some). If you really really have to do it, wear gloves and make sure you wash your hands really well.

Thanks! I have told my husband it is now his job to do the litter, can say that's one perk of being pregnant so far!

Haha... its gotta have some perks!! LOL... my husband took over during my first pregnancy and has been doing it ever since (DD is now 10)!! Besides... aside from it not being safe, I don't think I could handle the smell!
