hi, im 23weeks pregnant.my husband was diagnosed with chicken fox today.i already had chicken fox when i was 23y/o. Is it possible that me and my baby might get infected?

I'm pretty sure you mean chicken pox. Since you had it already especially in your adulthood, there is virtually no chance you'll get it again. Also the concern is only about you. Since your body can fight it off your baby should be fine. Report it to your doctor just in case.

You can get the adult version, which is the shingles. It is essentially a reactivated form of the CP. People with compromised immune systems are at greatest risk. A pregnant woman is considered to have a compromised immune system and so are the elderly. I would let your doctor know about this.

I forgot to add that being exposed to someone w/ the pox is not necessarily going to cause you to develop shingles. Researchers do not know why the dormant virus sometimes reactivates. Still, ask the doc. Maybe he thinks you should stay away from hubby for a while to be safe, depending on your health.

I had the chicken pox when I was a teenager. later on in life when I became pregnant I caught the chicken pox from my son. Yes I got it the second time, the doctors were first worried because they were mostly concerned of how far along I was in my pregnancy. So talk it over with your doctor.

I had chicken pox, now I am just waiting to get chicken fox, but I am sure that won't happen during pregnancy!! lol heehehee jk
