Cold Water And Pregnancy

Is it ok to be in cold water while pregnant? I know that your not suppose to be in Hot but I am not sure about the cold water and the effects. Please Help

It depends on how cold I suppose. The last thing you want is hypothermia, and you want to avoid is sudden changes in body temperature. If you want to be safe, stick with warm baths.

Curious as to the cold water situation you're talking about. A cold bath, pool, ocean??? If it's uncomfortable for you to be submerged in cold water, that would be a good indication that you probably shouldn't be in the water. I agree with BBK, avoid sudden changes in body temperature. :o)

I would think that's fine. Swimming is actually recommended to pregnant women. You can ask your provider if you want to double check. You just reminded me that about when we traveled to Japan and over there along with the hot tub they have a cold tub, only I didn't know and jumped right in..... well, it was freezing and that I would certainly not recommend.
