i have written in a ouple of times before. My husband and I are planning on ttc in Dec/Jan. I recently came off the pill to try and get AF back on track. My OB says to wait till I get back on track w/ my periods to ttc. The issue is I don't want to wait till Dec/Jan to ttc. I want to start now. My husband is always saying once I get something in my head I obsess about it. He really does not want to deviate from the plan we have set. I don't know hoe to convince him try want to ttc now. I understand about getting back on track w/ my period to help reduce the chance of a miscarriage, but other than that, I want to try NOW. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey jal239 I'd been waiting for my dh to be "ready" for about 1.5 years.. when he finally started talking about it seriously in March, I stopped my pill and we started ttc right away.. it took 3 months for us but I am now 7 weeks . I had been on bcp for 12 years and my cycle was regular right away so I was lucky. But the way I convinced him right away was that I told him it would be neat to have a Jan/feb baby since both of our birthdays are in jan/feb.. he said okay then I said... well that means april or may for conception.. at first he hesitated and then was okay.. not sure if this will help you at all but thta's what I did... and the interesting part was when I'd get my period the 2 months when I was off the pill.. he was very disappointed about it.. so I knew he was okay.. your dh will come around.. good luck!!

KimS: Thanks for you reply. I was due for my AF last Thursday and have not gotten it yet. My Gyno says it may be delayed with just coming off the pill. I really do not want to have a Sept baby (Most of my family are born in Spet) or a May baby (my husband and a bunch of his relatives are born near mother's day). My husband would prefer to have an October baby b/c that is the month of our anniversary. I don't want to get my hopes up that I will conceive in Jan in case I have trouble. That's another reason why I want to start now, incase it takes a couple of months.

I understand we thought it would be good to try but if I'd been pregnant the first month it would have been a christmas baby... I'm due Feb 14 so it has worked out for us, my birthday is Feb 10 and our anniversary is Feb 18... I know my first month off the pill I had a tonne of "pregnancy symptoms"... They say it takes the average woman 3 months to regulate.. but from what I know there is no risk to trying right away other than it is hard for them to date your pregnancy, which only means you'll get an early ultrasound which is awesome anyways... since I was regular enough I don't get an ultrasound until 18 weeks!!! well good luck and keep me posted... have you tried any hpt just in case??

KimS: I have taken a hpt test and it came back negative. My gyno said to call her next week if I don't get it. This Thursday wil be one week late (that's if i had a regular cycle). I have been very tired lately, but other than that, no symptoms. I bought a fertility monitor, but can't start that till i ge my period. It would be funny if I am pregnant and never even used the monitor. Congrats on your little one. I can't wait!!!!
