Could Something Be Wrong

I am now 10 weeks preg. and I had my initial prenantal visit a week ago at (9 weeks) However my doctor couldnt find a clear and distinct heartbeat for my child. That may have just been the equipment she used but on my ultrasound I could barely see the baby. At the time I didnt think anything of it because she didnt tell me anyhting was wrong. But now I'm worried because I've seen pictures of 9 week ultrasounds and you can actually make out bodyparts and stuff. Has anybody else experience this. Please Help

With my last pregnancy at the first u/s all you could see was what looked like a tiny little bean. No kidding. There was no making out of any body parts. And the heartbeat was just this tiny little flicker. With this pregnancy I had a better u/s machine (I was like 14 weeks then too) and I could see the 4 parts of the heart, the spine, the ribs, all of that. Even the little fingers, the baby waved right at us!!! So I think it has a lot to do with the quality of the u/s machine. I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, if it was your doctor that did the u/s she should have told you if something was wrong. U/S technicians can't let you know. But your doctor can. If anything just call her and ask about it. You still have 3 weeks to go until your next visit. There's no reason to worry about it for that long. Just call the office and leave a message with the person that answers the phone and your doctor will get back to you when she has time. I'm sure everything is fine though. GL. :-)

Did you have an ultrasound or were they checking it from the heart doppler? From my experience, when i was six weeks I had an ultrasound and I could SEE the heartbeat but I could not hear it yet. I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks and I could see legs, arm, the head, brain, and the little heart pumping but I still could hear it. I didn't hear mine until I was 12 weeks. I don't know if that helps, but if you haven't had an ultrasound they will measure the baby and let you know exactly how far along you are.

Equipment is *very* important. In the first trimester the doc had some really *old* c___p, so he sent us to the hospital for heartbeat detection. He finally broke down and bought the new stuff but much later.

Well on the ultarsound all you can really see is the black sac that the baby's in and the white part(the baby). But you can barely make out anything. My boyfriend said "there's the head" and I'm like "okay where?" Am I worrying for nothing? I think it was probably just the equipment(ultrasound machine she used) It was prob. old or something but I'm still sooo worried. I just can't help it. I'm worried about everything!

Anna It doesn't get better (the worrying part). At almost 38 weeks, my wife often downs a gla__s of ice cold OJ or I'm using the flashlight on her belly to get a reaction from the baby.... she's usually just sleeping.
