Shannon and Karen...I have read that it is not safe during pregnancy due to the (I think it is aspertane)...somebody follow me up with the exact...but it even says this in my pregnancy book which unfortunately is not here at work with me.

I don't think diet soda is safe for anybody, especially babies. Aspartame & Splenda are very bad (addictive), I know I'll never use it again.

it is probably okay in moderation. but different types of artificial sweetners are really dangerous during pregnancy. Asparthame is the least dangerous of them, but I still don't think it's a very healthy choice. If you can, read the book "what to expect while you're expecting" it talks about this in really good detail

I was told by my doctor that aspartame is not safe, but that Splenda should be.

well i have never herd anything against it, but soda period isn't supose to be good, but because of the cafine, not the other. i also have to say, my husband works in a plant where they produce fat free and diet stuff, and yeah, it has less calories, but they have to add more chemicals to drinks and food that say fat free or low calorie, or diet, so as my husband would say, yeah you won't gain weight on diet or low calorie or low fat products, but you might as well be drinking or eating bleach or other harmfull chemical products. but as far as it while you're pregnate, i have never herd not to drink or eat no fat low fat or diet things. ask your doctor.
