Does Anyone Have Their Belly Button Pierced

I have had mine pierced for about 12 years now & have never taken it out. I was wondering if & when everyone else plans on taking theirs out?

I'd say take it out whenever you go from being an "innie" to an "outtie" BUT - they have those clear little studs for tongue rings - you know what I'm talking about? You could get one of those, to keep your hole open.

I took mine out as soon as I found out with my first pregnancy, and I was able to put it back in myself when the pregnancy was over, it hurt a bit, because the hole grew over a bit, but I got it back in. This time I also took it out right away, and I am now 23 weeks, and I know I could get it in right now no problem. If you have had it in now for about 12 years, then it would probably take a while to grow over.

You can actually buy pregnancy piercings now, so I have been left to believe. I am also debating whether to take mine out - I am nearly 11 weeks pregnant, and do not know whether to take it out completely or buy pregnancy piercing.

I HAD TO TAKE MINE OUT BECAUSE MY HOLE STRETCHED OUT SO MUCH IT HURT AND IT STILL HURTS EVEN AFTER IT HAS BEEN OUT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS IT FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BUST COMPLETELY OPEN.

I have had my belly b___ton pierced for five years and I took mine out when I reached my last trimester...My belly b___ton is almost an inny, but I have the worst stretch mark going up my stomach where I had my belly b___ton pierced...but my doctor told me it was safe to keep it in if I was wanted...but as I got further along it would probably be uncomfortable...good luck.

I am the same as IANSMOMMY. I had to take mine out at around 16 weeks. I am now at 25 weeks and it has stretched to a deformed state. I sometimes wonder if it is going to just stretch all the way apart..lol.

I am at 22 weeks and still have mine in. I have had it for about 10 years now. I have a half inny so the piercing is on the skin above my bellyb___ton. So far it's been fine. My belly b___ton has come out a little bit but hasn't affected it. Despite that I have had it for 10 years, mine WILL close up even if I take it out for a day. I had surgery a year ago and I only took it out for a couple of hours and it was extremely hard to get back in. Everyone heals differently.

I took mine out it was really starting to hurt as my belly got bigger.

Kelly B -- let me know how it goes with your belly b___ton ring. I have a full inny, * mine is pierced through the skin at the top. I am hoping to leave it in, the ring itself is pretty thick though - 17 gauge, so that might be a problem. I got mine done years ago, when they didn't even make the thin rings.. you got to choose between thick & thicker.. I got the thickest one they had!

i asked this same question a couple months ago and was planning on leaving mine in but i had to take it out at 18 weeks. i am now 25 weeks and it has closed up. i had to take it out for my ultrasound and i forget to put it back in right away. after about 6 hours i put it back in fine but the next day it was infected. i tried to keep it in for as long as i could but it hurt. it was pulling anyway from my stomach getting so large. my stomach has stretched so much that i probably would have had to take it out by now anyways. keep it in until it starts to hurt and then you will have no choice but to take it out. good luck
