Hello to all you ladies who have already experienced childbirth. I am asking for your help. I'm a first time mom...36 week of pregnancy...VERY big, hard belly and I'm just know starting to have BAD back pain. I havnen't began to lose my mucus plug...no rupturing of membranes...my br___t ARE leaking...but other than that nothing else. I am having bad dull aches in my left side of lower back and it has been like this for a couple of days. It comes and goes...but mostly comes! Is this a sign of labor? How soon did you go into labor after experiencing back pains? What should I do to get rid of them? Will they last for another 4 weeks?!?!? (Please say no) =) Thanks

While it could be preterm labor, it could also be the baby dropping, which definitley causes some intense back pain. If all the other typical labor symptoms are lacking, I don't think you're in labor. Try laying down on your left side. Do the back pains go away? If they do, I think it's just the position of the baby, most likely due to it dropping. They baby usually drops 2-3 weeks before delivery. Good luck! :o)
