Fetal Heartrate Boy Or Girl

Someone told me that depending on the baby's heart rate, you can determine if the baby is a boy or a girl. My baby's heart rate was approx. 150bpm. Any ideas? Is this an accurate way of predicting a boy or girl?

The first time we heard our daughter's heart beat the Dr. said it's probably a girl! I never believed in Old Wives tales but I have to say she was on the money! I've heard higher than 140 means girl! Good luck!

Unfortunately it's not a good way, but with odds as high as 50% people tend to get it right half the time.

The fetal heart rate having anything to do with the s_x is just an old wives tale. Here is where this oldwives tale came from... A baby's heart rate is not affected by its s_x until it is born, when a girl's heart rate will increase considerably compared with boys during labor. Since a while back they didn’t have the means to listen to the hb in the womb the a__sumption was since a girl’s hb is higher during labor and right after birth that it must be so in the womb as well. But science has proven this not to be so true. :o)

I have to agree that it is an old wives tale because they say higher than 140 is a girl.....ours was 165 and he is a boy. You can guess what you think it will be by the heart rate but don't count on it.

It's an old wives tale and probably not that accurate, but it is fun to think about anyway. It was true with our son. I don't know about this one yet. I am 11wks and had a Dr. appt today and the hb was 162, so we'll see!

I'm pretty sure that's not true.
