Okay I know this will sound very silly and weird but I had to ask since I'm really confused now. You know how everybody tells you "Oh you should eat well, lots of fruits, vegetables..etc." which is very true! But lately my MIL has been telling me to eat ALOT of fruits..meaning go crazy on them! The reason she's saying this is because she believes the more fruits I eat, the lighter my baby's skin colour will be?!?!?! Is what she's saying true? I don't believe it, but she insisted too much that she has made me confused. I think because she is on the tanned-dark skin colour side, she hates it or something! Any thoughts on this please? I don't mind eating more fruits to make her happy, but at the same time for God's sake this is not all I want to eat!

Its true that some foods can effect our skins color. ( for example, I had a friend who went on a carrot diet and her skin had a slight orange tint to it.) But these changes are only temporary much like a sun tan is only temporary.

Well, my mom always laughs about the fact that when I was a baby I would only eat sweet potatoes & carrots and my skin turned yellow. But, I really doubt that anything YOU eat could effect your baby's skin color, especially permanantly! I think your MIL has been seriously mis-informed.

Yes, You should eat Apple and safron mixed in warm milk, will make the baby colour very fair.
