Just wanted to know if any of you ladies have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and if so what was your bloodsugar level? I did the one hour glucose test yesterday and had high results so I have to go back for the three hour test next week.

I dont have gestatonal diabetes but too did not pa__s my 1 hour glucose test but did pa__s the 3 hour. But then on one of my prenatal appointments my sugar in my urine was high so they made me do the 3 hour again. I still dont have GD but one of the hours did come back a little high so now I have to go to a nutrionest which will make me check my sugar before and after each meal.

I did when i was pregnant with my daughter, i'm not sure really what my blood sugar levels were at either the 1hr test or the 3hr test, but i know i was a little high when i had to test myself before and after every meal. Do you think that drink they make you have so they can test you is so gross? God i had so much trouble keeping it down

the drink for me was OK. I was so hungry and thirsty that I first I didnt mind. But towards the end I was hating it. It is so sweet that it made my throat hurt. I think the waiting of the 3 hours was actually worse and all the blood being drawn out.

Oh yeah the waiting is horrible, and sitting down on those horrible plastic waiting chairs even worse....

I have to go for my glucose test on Tuesday. I am not looking forward to the gross drink, but definately, the waiting will be the hardest part for me. I get so impatient when I'm at the doctor!! haha

I actually liked the drink for the first test, tasted just like orange soda. At the 3 hours test though it has twice as much glucose - that was a little harder to swallow. Come to think of it, it is very strange that my second test results cam back lower than the first even though it is twice as much glucose. Don't worry about having to take that second test - I did and there was no need for it.

I had to take the 3 hour test twice during my first pregnancy. It was negative both times. I haven't had to take it yet for this pregnancy, but my doctor told me that the best way to "pa__s" the one hour test was not to eat any sugar for 24 hours before the test. Guess I'll starve for a day, because sugary stuff is all I have an appet_te for anymore.

the nutritionist told me that even if you pa__s the 3 hour. every week changes when you are pregnant. You could get Gestational Diabetes and not even know it. If you are going to take it I would suggest you eat normally like you usually do so the test will be more acurate.

Well, I took my three hour glucose test and failed. Therefore I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I'm scheduled to meet with the nutritionist on Monday and I've already started watching what I'm eating and testing my blood sugar 4 times a day. I just wanted to see if any of you where going through the same thing and if there is any information/advice you can give me. Thanks.

I have gestational diabetes it runs in my family so the doctor went right to the 3 hour test and it came back with high readings it was about 180 to 200 so know they gave me this machine to check my blood every time I eat about four times a day they say you can control it by a diet but it is so hard because your pregnent and you want to eat all that good stuff the doctor tells you to measure your food, I some what do. they put me on some pills that I have to take before I eat dinner but I am controling it know. my reading are about 105 to 140 and they say 100 to 135 is normal and I only gained 13 pounds and i am 30 weeks pregnent

lidia, thanks for the info. I've been wondering what a normal reading is. How long do you wait after you've eaten to test? The nurse told me two hours after each meal and at bedtime.

my doctor told me to test 1 hour after every meal my pills i take a half hour before dinner
