Getting Proper Care

I'm 17 years old and basically on my own. I have my own health insurance and such. I've already graduated from high school and am attending college. I plan on giving up my baby for adoption because I want it to have a life better then what I could give it. Is there any way that I could get proper care for my baby that would be kept confidential?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I just wanted to say how proud I am of you for choosing adoption. I know this will be something very difficult, but you seem to have a very good head on your shoulders. For proper care, I would just get to the doctor if you haven't already. Your doctor should start you on prenatal vitamins and take good care of yourself. There are many women on this forum who would love to adopt. The best of luck to you honey. Again I'm very proud of you!

do u have planned parenthood in your area. I think they can help you for the adoption. Try to go to their website at www.plannedparenthood.org

Look up adoption in the yellow pages, and call an adoption agency. They will be able to help you with your questions, and with the medical and legal aspects. I've read studies where adopted children are better provided for, and less likely to be abused than children who live with their natural parents. Also, as adoption is expensive for the adoptive parents, they are usually fairly well off. You've made a very brave choice, and a wise one.
