Getting Ready To Get Of Pill At 28

I am on my last pack of pills.....I am 28 and a lot of my friends are having problems getting pregnant. I went to my doctor and she said it takes 6-8 months and come back if i am not successful. Did anyone take a long time after getting off birth control to get pregnant?

You have only about a 30% chance of getting pregnant each cycle even when timing is right and you're not just getting off the pill. I think this surprises most people who are trying to conceive that chances are it will take 3-4 cycles before most get pregnant. Even if there's nothing wrong with either mom or dad, it can still take longer for some. Try to enjoy the baby-making process instead of watching the calendar and counting how many cycles it takes. As for getting off the pill, some women seem to have heightened fertility immediately after stopping, while others have a bit of a decline. Keep in mind too that 6 months is not really considered "a long time" as far as conception. Many doctors won't even start talking about the potential of fertility problems until 12 months have pa__sed. Anyway, good luck!
