well I am 39 wks and the doctor has been saying all along that I'm going to have a pretty small baby, but for some reason this week at my appt. I measured 42 wks. I'm confused, what could this mean??

I'm getting induced on saturday morning because of this and because my doctor is going away, I'm happy about it but kind of worried as it increases the chances of c-section.

hey KM, sounds good I get induced on tuesday, if she dont come out on her own. :)

KM, I don't really have an answer for your question except maybe he missed your due date in the beginning. I just wanted to tell you not to be scared of c-section. I had 2 of them. It does take longer to heal, but doctors can make a tiny little scar that's really low and only a few inches wide. you can't see it in a bikini. Just think, if you have a c, at least you know you won't poop on the doctor. LOL :o) Good luck!

LOL m. I know its not painful and the scar is not bad, im just a wimp with surgeries, so im hoping everything will go normally and I wont have to get one.I don't think my due date is off cause i always measured right for it till this week lol, and the US corresponded with my LMP.Dez- Good Luck!!! :)

Ok, I understand. Did the doc say you are having a big baby maybe? My second one was over 8 pounds. I understand you not wanting to have a c. Sometimes I wish I would have been able to have a v____al delivery. Best of luck to you! And to you Dez!

thank you ladies for the luck, I am a bit worried about the c section myself just because of the thought of it being surgery. even if the scare were so little, I dont think I will be wearing a bikini anymore, lol.

I had a similar experience, i measured large at some of my checkups.I am going for a VBAC and another large baby would not a good thing for me as this is why i had my first section. I saw a specialist and he told the tape measure method docs use is only a guide and is not always accurate as the position of the babe and weather youre carrying high or low can throw the measurements off. I am having another ultrasound next week to get a better idea of the size. i am 36 weeks right now and do hope it is NOT a large baby!! I wish i was 39 weeks along!! Good luck!

Thanks Leanne :) Yeah I am carrying very high, and my baby's head is fully engaged.they first were predicting around a 6-7lb(tops) baby. but now I measured off a bit.I also heard the measurements have a small margin of error
