Grade 2 3 Placenta

I already asked this question yesterday, but now I can't find it so I will ask again! I am due Nov.23. At my last doctors visit my doctor told me that from looking at my ultrasound my placenta looked "aged" he then said I should not be concerned! But he wants me to have another ultrasound in 2 wks. to check for a 'grade 2-3 placenta' I am worried what effect this could have on my baby? Anyone that has had this or knows someone who has, please respond! Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure either, about what it means. Maybe it could mean that it is scarred, which may not allow the proper amounts of nutrients or oxygen to pa__s through to the baby? Did your Doctor say how baby's growth and development were? Did he seem concerned? Gosh, I hate it when Doctors say something, and don't follow through with an explanation!

www.learningradiology.com/notes/gunotes/placentapage.htm .... this is what I found. I had a calcified placenta, and it prevented nutrients and oxygen from getting to my baby. Baby stopped growing, and they took him out at 34 weeks. Hope this helps a little!
