Hard To Be Patient

Well, I'm almost 21 and my husband and I have decided to have a baby (thats the exciting part) but I never had any idea I would actually have to TRY to get pregnant!? All of my friends got pregnant in high school! I've been off the pill for three months and am not yet pregnant..I know it takes time but I'm starting to go a little crazy and my husband is upset because he thinks it's his fault. How long should you wait before you go to a fertility specialist?

most doctors make you wait until you are a year into trying.

I am in my thirties and my OB/GYN told me that you should not even try to get pregnant until after you have been off of birth control for at least three months. My OB/GYN had us try to get pregnant for at least one year before checking for infertility(counting the three months I waited after going off birth control). I researched this and found it to be standard practice. Also, most insurance companies will not cover a fertility specialist or fertility treatments unless you have be trying to get pregnant for at least one year.
