Hi, I am 38 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me today that at my next weeks appt. he will sc__pe my membranes, to help get labor started. I was just wondering what is it they actually do, and has it worked for anyone? I sure do hope it does work because I cant take it anymore, lol.

des your only 38 weeks, why is doc doing that now, why not wait untill you have pa__sed yuor due date befroe trying to induce!

well from what i understood sc___ping the membranes isnt a form of induction. I think that it helps get you started dialated. plus when the sc___pe my membranes i will already be 39 weeks, and i am making no type of progress. I dont even know what a contraction feels like, plus sometimes sc___ping the membranes doesnt even do much, for helping get things started. I was just seeing if there was anyone out there that it worked for and how long it took for it to work. My due date is nov 16 so i dont think its that big of a deal for them to sc___pe my membranes on nov 8, its not like they are breaking my bag of waters. some doctors start sc___ping the membranes at 36 weeks and then doing weekly exams from there on out, thats not the case at my doctors office, so i think at 39 weeks ill be ok.

My doctor did that with my youngest on Thursday and I went into labor on Friday around midnight. Delivered him around 4:00 am Sat.
