Hello ladies, hope you can help me out.. so I went to the dr yesterday and I am exactly 10 wks.. she was not going to use the doppler to hear the babies heart because that was after the 12 weeks, but when she touched the uterus she said my uterus was bigger than 10 wks, but when we put the doppler to my stomach we did not hear the baby.. she said it was nothing to worry about but she scheduled me to an ultrasound, she also mentioned the possibilty of having twins because of my uterus being so big.. any opinions on this? Should I be worried about the babies heart beat?

Uterus size can not always be an accurate way to determine twins sometimes its just bigger than ususal and only a singleton resides. Also alot of people dont hear the babies heart on doppler till after 14 weeks. I should add that with my second I would measure up to 8 weeks to big and when I was pregnant with my 1st my dr felt my tummy and said he couldnt feel any lumps so he said I was under 13 weeks well a week later a u/s showed me at 15 1/2 weeks. drs can be wrong and a u/s is the best way congrads and good luck

A doctor told me my uterus measured at about 13 weeks and the ultrasound 2 weeks later said I was 10- meaning that I was only 8 when I measured 13 weeks. And, it was not twins and nothing was wrong with my baby- she is a happy 7 year old now!
