Heart Pounding

I dont' remember this with my first pregnancy but with this one i'll be sitting at work or sometimes at home and my heart will pound rather hard in my chest. I remember it racing like one time with my dd but its not racing now, just seems to be beating hard, then will go back to normal and start again. Am not dizzy or anything and I feel fine. can anyone relate? am 10 weeks along.

Hi Shanna.... This is my first, so I don't know if it's normal or not, but the same thing happens to me (17w4d). Freaks me out a little to actually be able to hear/feel my heart pounding away like that! You might want to check with your dr. to be on the safe side, but mine wasn't concerned when I told him. Good luck!

i'm sure its nothing to worry about, just has to be our bodies working harder.

I am about 5 weeks and I have this, too, along with heavy breathing like I have be walking briskly up and down stairs. I don't feel bad and it is not all the time, but it is weird. DH keeps asking why I am sighing so much. I am just trying to catch my breath!

I am 26 weeks and it's happened to me a few times. I don't seem to have to be doing anything strenuous, sometimes it will happen when I'm just sitting at my desk on the computer. I'm not sure what causes it, but haven't been worried enough to remember to bring it up with my Dr. :)

this happens because your baby is pushing on your organs which are pushing on your lungs i asked my doctor about this and he just said when you are short of breath take it easy and listen to your body
