Help Blood On Toilet Paper

I am 12.5 weeks pregnant and when I went to the washroom this morning there was some light pink blood on the toilet paper. I don't have major cramps, but something doesn't feel the same down there and I can't quite put my finger on it. I am really worried. Is this a sign of miscarriage? My husband and I had s_x last night, could it be from that maybe? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Call your doctor emediately. If you continue to bleeed go the the hospital if you have to. If you feel as though something is wrong and you are having even minor cramps then your intuition is probably right. Also so ver serious complications could be happening like seperation of the placenta from the uterine wall. Should this happen you can bleed to death if left untreated.

the same happened to me at about the same time in my pregnancy with my daughter. i rushed to the hosptial, and it was an infection, they gave me pills and i was fine the day after. you should go as it may be that or somthine else

When you have s_x, the cervix, which is alread inflammed, can cause you to have light pink bleeding after. This is probably what happened, since you said you had s_x...but call the doctor just to put your mind at ease...

Thanks for all of your advise. Right after I posted this question I started to bleed darker, so I rushed into emerg. They were able to find a strong heart beat still (160 beats) and told me that if I had any cramping to come back in immediately. The very first thing the dr. asked me was if I had intercourse last night. I told him that I did and he said that around the 12 week mark the cervix is more delicate and that is what probably caused the bleeding. He said also there is a lot of stretching going on in the 12 week mark, so it could have something to do with that also. He told me to take it easy today, which I am. I am still afraid though, but hopefully everything stays ok. Thank you again for all of your advice.

oh my... Lumina... I'll keep you in my prayers. I am sure everything is fine. Some people have their periods and/or bleed all the way through their pregnancy... I hope for the best for you!!!

I would call your dr. but I also bled at 12 weeks with both of my babies, I have an 11 month old and I am 20 weeks pregnant. I also was bleeding this time at 20 weeks and everything turned out to be ok, so try not to stress out too much, just go in and get it checked it will make you feel better.

I went back into emerg this morning because I have been bleeding now for 3 days. The dr. felt to see if my cervix was open and he said it was closed...so that is good. And he was able to find a heart beat, which is really good also. I had a sharp pain on my the right side of my stomach this morning, so that was why I was so worried. I had some blood work done and they are setting me up for an ultrasound. I really hope that things are ok. Dez...how long did you bleed for with your first pregnancy? I am trying not to worry, but it is so hard when you see blood.

With both of my pregnancies at around 12 weeks I bled/spotted for about 2 days so at around the same time it happened the same way.

Lumina, I am now 21 weeks. I had spotting at 6 weeks, again at 13 weeks, and then bleeding at 17 weeks. I am not allowed to engage in any s_xual activity at this time. It may be that your cervix is sensitive as some women do bleed after s_x. This last time I bled for 3 weeks, but the u/s says the baby is fine. Just listen to your doctor, take it easy. Good luck to you!
