my husband will be fatherfor the first time at 50 and we were married almost 3 years ago. he's an only child and has no experience with infant nieces and nephews like i have. he's very neat and tidy and HE HATES CLUTTER. i'm the opposite. it doesn't bother me and i have been around my family when my nieces and nephews were young. i saw all the clutter little ones can create. i see what can happen when you have small children in the house. of course my husband has been exposed to small children, but not like he will be in the coming three weeks. i really feel he is in for a rude awakening. he feels the house can still be clean like it is now with just us. i'm not saying this baby will make us slobs, i just think everything will not be in it's place all the time. does anyone have any input?

Ask him to hire a maid. ;-) Or, if he's thinking the house can be constantly clean, ask him to be the one to clean it, while you take care of the baby.

I think he will adjust to the change.
