Hot Baths

I love taking hot baths and had no idea this was dangerous when pregnant. Now I'm worried sick that I could have caused damage. Also, I read that high temperatures and fevers can cause Schizophrenia (British study). Anyone speak to their doctor about this? My next appointment isn't for a while.

i have never heard of it being dangerous for the baby. i love hot baths. the only thing I find is that sometimes I get really dizzy and lightheaded but i dont think there is any problem.

do not take hot baths or get in hot tubs/jacuzzis when pregnant. extreme hot temps are dangerous for baby and it they are hot enough to make you dizzy you can faint due to blood pressure dropping and you might faint and hurt yourself.

As long as your body temp doesn't get to 102 you are generally ok. I keep the hot tub set at 100 so it's not an issue for the baby, and take my baths a little cooler than I used to. It can be dangerous if your body temp gets to 102.

NO hot baths ladies, my sister in law took a ton of hot baths while pregnant with her second and it is beleived that it coused brain injury to the baby because the temp was to much for the baby to take. Remeber it is already 98 degrees in there and to much oveerheating would give anyone problems

I gave birth to a healthy baby boy on June 20, 2005. I took a HOT BATH EVERYDAY!! they told me it wasnt good for me becasue like tanning, it heats your body up from the inside out but i told my doctors that i had to because it was the only thing that made me feel better. So i think you'll be good.
