How Easy Is It To Have A Miscarriage At 19 Weeks

Just what the question says, How easy is it to have a miscarriage at 19 weeks? That's where I'm at right now. Last week, I had unreal cramps to the point I couldn't move. There was no bleeding, and no other symptoms. Now I'm fine. I talked to a girlfriend who already has a child, and she said it is possible to have a miscarriage at this point, but it;s very hard. I think I just need some reassurence. Thanks!

It sounds as though you don't have a doctor watching your pregnancy. Why don't you see if the Health Department or Planned Parenthood can help. Call 1-800-230-PLAN. All babies should have prenatal care.

Your girlfriend is correct, it is much less common to have a miscarriage after the first trimester than during the first trimester. My first guess would be you experienced round ligament pain rather than cramps but that is only a guess. As Viv suggests, if you are not seeing a doctor regularly (at this point about once a month) then you should start right away. Regular supervision from a doctor can make a big difference between a healthy and an unhealthy pregnancy. Good luck.
