Hello, im a 26 year old male, who's gf has recently taken a pregnancy test that came out positive. I am both excited and nervous but really worried about how I am going to break the news to my religious parents. Right now we are talking about waiting for a month or two, so we have time to ourselves and make a definate plans for our future. I am suppotrting her in all ways that i can, I am just curious on the BEST way to approach the family. I REALLY COULD USE THE ADVICE!!! no question if we are keeping it or not, its mine and hers. any suggestions?

Ben, first of all, it is wonderful how supportive you seem to your gf. That is very refreshing!! I am the daughter of a baptist minister and I understand how this may be hard for you. The parents job is to LOVE you and support you no matter what. They will be dissappointed at first, but they will come around. Be truthful with them!! Just tell them that they will be grandparents and ask them for there support. You need them now more than ever. If they want a relationship with the baby, they will accept this in time. Best of luck to you!! Congratulations! Peggy-27 DH-32 ttc #1

Ben-Its great you're worried about your family, and thinking about your child. Also congratulations! My Grandfather is a minister, so I come from a very religous family also. Im 19 years old, and I have a 2 and a half month old little girl. I was 18 when I got pregnant, and 19 when I had my daughter. My Grandparents were so supportive (as well as my parents) and even brought flowers to the hospital. You're 26 years old, a grown man, with a family on the way. Religous or not, your family loves you, and should support you, if they don't then thats not very Christian like to me.
