How Soon Can You Hear The Heartbeat

I'm nearly six weeks pregnant but I keep getting quite severe cramps but no blood. I was going to go to my doctors but will it be too early for them to tell me if there is anything wrong or would they be able to hear the heartbeat by now?

They cant hear the heartbeat, until well over 12weeks (with a doppler) but they can SEE heartbeat with ultrasound.

Actually the heartbeat can be heard as early as 8 weeks with a doppler. I heard mine at 9 weeks with a doppler I rented from storkradio. Some dopplers are better than others so not to much longer for you. I am now 18 weeks and listen to my baby's heatbeat all the time. It is a nice piece of mind to rent a doppler! The cramps that you are getting are normal in pregnancy. Your uterus is expanding/stretching and preparing for the baby so do not worry.

Your doctor will probably schedule and ultrasound to date the pregnancy. I had cramps up till 9 weeks and I'm 16 weeks now and get them once in a while. It's normal...for the doppler thing. They couldnt' pick up a heartbeat with it on me at 13 weeks because I have a tilter uterus. So they did another ultrasound. But I was not worried, I'm sure you'll be fne!!

We were able to see the heartbeat using a transv____al ultrasound at 6 weeks pregnant. At 5 weeks, 5 days we didn't see any heartbeat and thought it may be a miscarriage but he told me to wait a few days because it might still be too early. So we waited about 5 days, did another ultrasound and there it was.
