How To Find In Home Day Cares

I am currently 34w pg and we are looking for an in-home day care rather than a big day care, but how do you go about finding them? Other than if they have a sign outside their house or word of mouth, does anybody know how you can find them?

My aunt has had an in-home daycare for 35 years, and the children she's had just love her! I see why you'd choose this method; "her" kids actually cried when they had to go home. It was radically different from a regular day care. Anyhow, she advertised in the local newspaper. Whenever she had a couple of openings, she would place a small ad under a child care or services section stating she was a Christian at-home day care provider. I would check that route. Also, look on the bulletin boards at grocery stores; I've seen a lot of advertising done there before.

Call the Division of Child and Family Services in your county they may be able to give you a list of all licensed child care facilities in your area. I don't remember if that is who I called to get my list, but if it is the wrong office they will be able to tell you where to call.
