Hpv And Pregnancy

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and back in May I found out that I had high risk HPV ( the virus that causes genital warts and cervical cancer). I have never had any wart...nor has my husband, but I did read that they can appear once you get pregnant. I also have mild cervical dysplacia. Has anyone out there had the virus, but never developed any warts during pregnancy? Any responses would help.

I had the HPV virus before I got pregnant, and never had a wart break out. I also though had the displasia removed from my cervix. I though am not sure what complications can be brought forth during pregancy. Why didn't you have the displaisa removed?

My Dr. wants me to wait unti my next pap in November to see how the cells have progressed. I'm not sure why...I'm just going on her advice. Thanks for the reply!

I am pregnanct and had an abnormal pap. my doctor sent me for a colposcopy and the dr said he saw a lot of displaysia and was going to do a biopsy after the baby is born.does this mean I have HPV for sure or could it just be precancerous cells not linked to HPV?

99% of cervical cancer cases are HPV related...so many people have it and dont even know because they have no symptoms.

but it will go away on its own if i get the displaysia removed? and can my partner and i pa__s it back and forth?

It wont go away...but it will become dormant in your system once your immune system gets use to it. There's even a chance the displaysia can come back after it is removed. Its really important to have regular paps once you know you have it.

My doctor isnt giving me much info. All I know is that from having a colposcopy performed they found a lot of displaysia and I need a biopsy and treatment.they never told me anything about HPV.I really don't know anything about it and I don't have any visible warts or anything.what should I be doing about it to ensure the health of my partner and I

My doc. told me just eat healthy and keep my immune system up...I also have never experienced any warts and neither has my husband. hope I could help.

Thanks for the help. It's pretty scary...I feel really gross and stuff and I am scared to tell my partner, he doesn't have visible warts or anything tho and neither do i.My doctor hasnt even told me I have HPV tho..Just that i have displaysia

I had a hard time telling my husband even though I know I got it from him! I read that there is no way of testing guys for the virus...the only way they know they have it is if they have warts?

yeah I heard that too.I also heard that they have a better immunity to it.I don't know I'm reading all diff.things about it..I read that eventually you can clear the virus because you can become immune..so they dont treat men because u pa__s it back and forth to each other but its the exact same type of the disease that eventually you both will be immune.I'm just wondering what I should do, like after I get the displaysia removed..How can I protect myself so I don't get displaysia again

I think I've also read that displaysia during pregnancy usually disappears after the baby's birth..and that a high percentage of ppl with the Hpv virus will clear it within 24 mnths with no treatment

I'm not sure how to prevent the displaysia from coming back?...I felt like my doctor wasnt telling me everything I needed to know about my situation so I requested a copy of my pap and biopsy to do a little research of my own. I found out that "displaysia" is a nice was of saying pre-cancerous cells! I was shocked...maybe my doctor was trying to keep me from freaking out. I just wonder..if they take it out...how can it NOT come back?

same here i feel like my doctor has left me completely out in the dark about this. I wish it were easy to find family doctors because I would love to switch, I don't find I get the information and answers I'd like to my questions. She told me I had an abnormal pap, and precancerous cells, nothing about HPV, and the worst thing is they said, "oh abnormal paps and cell changes are very common especially in Pregnant women, theyre nothing to worry about" then I find out I could have HPV..now i'm worrying to death and shes not giving me info.
