i was just wondering if there was a way for me to go into labor early....i asked my ob and she said that at 37 weeks it was to soon. if i wanted i could have a c-section but she doesnt suggest that....i'm just uncomfortable and when i get up and walk it hurts so bad that i have to stand there and hold something for a little bit until it eases up to where i can start walking...

I wanted that too....i did the raspberry tea....that gives you harsh contractions and a 52 hour labor....2 inductions...a boggy uterus.......she had a BM inside of me and it wasn't pretty.....I'd just leave all alone until it's time....just my opinion though

Steph, hang in there. Give it another week or two. Your baby needs to mature inside where it's safe. If it's really awful, sit down and get someone else to do it for you until it's time. This is one time in our lives as women that it should be easy to ask other people for help; take advantage of it! I know it's miserable, but a healthy baby is worth it! Besides, once they come out, you don't get to sleep for YEARS!!! So perhaps a few more naps while you can?

Steph, you might be going into labor. With my first I went to the hospital twice, crying, actually throwing up from the pain, and they sent me home because I wasn't dilated enough. That was not fun! My kids are 11 and 12, so I don't remember all of the details any longer. Scroll up to Q&A, then go to the labor section of the site and try asking there, or in the infant care where the girls will have fresh memories and you'll get better answers.

I've never had any children but my mother had 8. She said that after the fourth she found the trick to going into labor was a real bumpy car ride or try riding on a city bus. She was usually a week or two late with each one of us and she said riding around on a bumpy rode usually did the trick. I told my friend that last year when she wanted to go into labor, so she rode on the city bus one evening....the next morning at 5 AM she delivered a healthy baby girl.
