I'm due June 26 and my husband is in the navy when I go into labor he will be deployed. We just moved to san diego and our familes live back in philly,Pa and I don't know anyone here yet. We have a 1 yr old and I just don't know what to do for when it come time for me to give birth to my baby. I'm not sure about asking anyone to come around my due date because no one can just drop what they're doing to travel cross country. If anyone has any options please reply back i am desperate for any suggestions thanx.

have you considered a doula or a midwife?..as they are support for when you go into labor and stay with you for the duration..

operationspecialdelivery.com, They provide doulas (essentially labor coaches) at no cost to support the spouses of soldiers that are deployed for the birth. I am in the same situation right now... due in the beginning of February and will be all alone in Hawaii. Our families both live on the East Coast and have work, etc. that they can't leave. I was stuck on bed rest for a good deal of my pregnancy, so it didn't leave much opportunity to build up a support network either. Good luck!

I am guessing your question was not about being alone for the labor as much as who is going to watch your 1 year old? I would tell the families of your worry. Someone might volunteer to help. If not, which would be hurtful to you, I think you should try to meet some military moms in your area. There are various support groups for military women and I think you could make a friend with someone and build a trust with them by June.
