I Want A Wife

It's just me, E, wishing I had a wife. Someone to cook, clean the bathroom, buy me some groceries, or think about throwing the laundry in once in a while. Someone I don't have to pay, but they do it because it needs to be done. Hey, I bet she will notice that the kitchen floor is dirty. I don't need someone to pamper me, just take charge once in while, because having to ask all the time is half the struggle. Woe is me. The list is endless.

I hear ya, E!!! I just want a wife to bear my next child... Okay, and maybe to change the sheets every weekend... and I bet she would notice that the dining room is dusty, and the bills need to be paid.

LOL you guys! I am the slave... I am a new mom and do it all. I was just fantasizing about what it would be like if I didn't have to take care of all the domestic c___p all the time. You know, if I had a wife... she could do the stuff I hate.

Yeah, changing the sheets each weekend is a big one. My wife will surely do that:) She will also make the bed every day. I love her already!

I know. My husband actually said this to me at the dinner table (in front of his parents) the other night - "If you really want to serve me, you will bring me a carbonated water". I was like WTF? I said, "I don't want to SERVE you at all tonight." Get it yourself. He has never said anything like that before so I was thrown back. Of course, his mother jumped to serve him. It's those foreign moms, they will do anything for their son's.

Don't get me wrong, my husband has been great - he cooks dinner every night and does dishes. But I really don't think he would mind if I told him the sheets hadn't been changed since we married three years ago.

Mine is great but I have to ask or make a "list" as he puts it. I don't want to list the fact that the sheets stink and the floor is sticky. A wife doesn't need a list.

KrisD - July 27

Funny - mine asks for lists too, and I have to put every stinkin' little thing on there or he won't get to it. Last weekend I had to add "change lightbulb in upstairs bathroom". I mean, he showers in there. So after days of asking him I put it on the list and it got changed that afternoon. NO - we women don't need lists because they would be ridiculously long! A list... I can't imagine... Do laundry, iron, pick up dry cleaning, I mean I'd have post its stuck all over me.

You have got me laughing so hard KrisD! I always thought a list was strange. It's like they have no intuition whatsoever about what needs to get done. Don't they live in the house too? Maybe they are blind but don't want us to know. By the time I finish the list, I could do the work myself.

KrisD - July 27

Well, this is what really gets me....I've seen him add things he's ALREADY DONE, just to get the satisfaction of crossing them out. He's a character. I've got a little time here at work, maybe I'll start him another list.

Now that's cute:) Gotta give hugs to him for being cute.

I actually have a wife at the moment. His name is Max and he won't let me do anything at the moment (well, except laundry, but you know about that problem). I suspect my wife is only temporary though and will leave town the moment I stop being pregnant, but for now, life is sweet! :)

lissi - You mean your husband anticipates stuff? He knows that when he says, "there is nothing to eat", it means he needs to grocery shop? I am speechless. Is he a robot or human?
