Ibs Constipation Amp Pregnancy

I suffer from IBS with constipation. I've been taking Zelnorm for several months and it has been a wonder drug for me. Unfortunately, my doctor wont let me take it during my first trimester. I'm 7W5D. My IBS, coupled with being pregnant, is kiling me. I'm so constipated, I haven't gone to the bathroom in over 2 weeks. I've tried all the traditional treatments (more fiber, exercise, cereals, etc). Nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do??

I suffer as well from IBS and I know what you are going through but you are doing everything right that you can...I spoke with my doc about it too and there really isn't anything you can do and I know that sucks cause it is sooo painful and irrating.....but if you find something out let me know too...haha....I am 12weeks2days and I go here and there but my IBS is both constipation and dirrahea so that sucks when I get relief it is to much...(TMI) sorry gross but take care...

Try taking 1 to 3 tablespoonfuls (3 being the max within a 24 hour period) a day. Start out with one and see how that works for you. It is perfectly harmless to the baby (has no side effects such as painful gas and bloating and is completely natural and also tasteless), but you should ask your doctor anyway to see if it's okay for you to take. Good Luck!
