Injury At 31 Weeks

This is going to sound stupid no matter how I word it so here goes . . . I have regularly been feeling pelvic/pubic bone pressure and/or pain, for a while now. It’s especially bad when standing on one foot (i.e. putting on pants in the morning), or1 rolling out of bed . . . Well, last night I was in my kitchen w/ my cat (her food bowl is in there too), and she decided to knock her food bowl upside down so all the rest of the food in the bottom went everywhere (she does this frequently)—so since I was right there, I wanted to kind of spank her for it, but rather than bending over and risking falling flat on my face, I tried to spank her with my foot. Well, the second I lifted up my foot, I felt like my pubic bone/pelvis just literally broke in half, along with my left hip (it was my left foot I was lifting). It hurt so much at first, but then felt a little better as the night went on and this morning it felt almost back to normal. Well, now here it is late afternoon and the pain is increasing rather than decreasing. I’ve already put in a call to my dr, and am awaiting a return call now, but since it’s already late, I probably won’t hear back until tomorrow. I’m wondering if anyone else has had anything like this happen? It was so weird, I literally just felt like I broke in two places, it was so painful . . . but then it started to feel better, and now it’s worse again. Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

hey I am 34 weeks and I am going through the same thing right now!! I had a doc appt the other day and he says it is good cause it means baby is dropping. It hurts to walk, or even roll over it bed...it definitly sucks, but it's normal! =)

Thanks for the reply : ) I've been having these pains for probably 5 or 6 weeks now. It's terrible! I have Ehler's-Danlos Syndrome too (which just means that there's a defect in my collagen, so my ligaments/joints extend farther than they should), so my hips and joints were already super loose--this is just making it so much worse! And this pubic pain--it feels like my baby Timothy is going to just crack the bone in half, and it burns sometimes because there's so much force being put on it. I never had this with my last son--I hope I don't have it next time either! I'm glad to know it's normal though--thanks again!

The baby sometimes doesn't drop till you are in labour..so that could be why it never happened with your first. =) Good Luck
