Irregular Fetal Heartbeat

My babies heartbeat has always been good about 150 bpm. At my 38 week appt. my Dr. heard a skip in the babies HB and sent me for another ultrasound. The doctor checked the babies heart and said there is a small problem but the baby will grow out of it. He said it is just due to prematurity of the babies heart. I am now 40 weeks one day and the baby still has the irregular hb my doctors don't seem concerned but I am soooo worried. Anyone else experience this?

I heard several babies are born with heart murmurs (sp?) and they grow out of by age 7.

The doctor didn't refer to it has a heart murmur?

My baby has the an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) as well. I am 26 weeks right now and they picked it up at about 20 weeks. They told me that it is common and nothing to worry about. If your baby's heartbeat was too slow or too fast or they saw problems with the heart on the ultrasound, they would refer you to a cardiologist. I am doing my best not to worry, but I understand exactly how you feel. I am sure that your baby is fine!

Thanks Amanda I believe our babies have the same thing. It was fine at my 20 week ultrasound. My doctor just picked it up at my 38 week visit. When you listen you hear it beating regular and then it just skips real quick. The other doctor who performed the U/S said it was common and nothing to worry about. I am past my due date now and can't help but worry!
