There seems to be mixed ideas about this? Can I safely have sugar free gum or a can of diet soda?

My doctor said that anything made with Splinda is fine so some diet sodas are ok she also said to stay away from stuff with aspertame. Splinda only.

aspartame is addictive, and is not reccomended for anyone, pregnant or not. Splenda is a good sugar alternative, and alright to take when pregnant.

I read somewhere that aspartame was a__sociated with early miscarriage. I don't know how accurate that article was, but I have stayed away from it.

There is a medical diagnosis that can be made during an autopsy called an "aspartame related death"... so NO!!!!

I would stay to stay away from artifical sweetners if you can. My DH has a small problem with his heart and he is not allowed to have any.

I heard aspartame is NOT safe, but if you have a little bit here and there in the gum you chew etc.. then it shouldn't do a whole lot apparently there can be very ill affects from it, I read it in my preg. book.. I can't remember what it did exactly, but it was enough to take me off it, *other then the "odd" piece of gum*
