Is Breastfeeding 2nd Baby Any Different From 1st Baby

I posted this on the br___tfeeding forum, but I'd like some more respones: I br___tfed my daughter and I remember that my nipples were really sore at first. For those of you who have 2 or more kids and br___tfed, how was it the second time? Do your nipples have to go through that conditioning again? How was your experience different, if at all, the second time around? Thanks so much for your answers, good luck!

it was not nearly as uncomfortable the second time, and what discomfort i did have wasn't such a shock. i had better support the second time and got with a LC right away. i don't think my first ever had a good latch. the biggest differance was how much calmer i was. i wasn't worried about every hicup and cry, i wasn't worried that i'd break her neck getting her dressed, i wasn't worried that i was going to kill her on accident, i'd done the baby stuff before and the 2nd time was not so intimidating. not being worried about 100 other things let me really focus on getting b___stfeeding right.

So far, nursing #2 is way easier. She definitely has a better latch and it isn't very painfuL. Also, we're co-sleeping, so we're all better rested and I'm happier nursing (non-sore nipples certainly helps that, too). Also, I'm going through the engorgement stage right now and it isn't as bad as I remember it. Although it isn't a walk in the park, I am more confident about it and just keep feeding the baby like crazy to get them drained. They are already starting to balance out! I;d say confidence is the bigest difference overall. I am not so worried that I am starving her!
