Is it normal to start having braxton hicks at 18 weeks? I think I got them last night for about an hour pretty close together. Has anyone else had this?? My stomach felt really tight and then would cramp up and then quit and then start up again. I know it wasn't gas there was a huge difference.

I wouldn't be worried. I think it's pretty normal to have them at 18 weeks. Just make sure to mention it at your next Doctor's appointment.

I've had them since 18 weeks. I didn't know what it was at first, because I never had any when I was pregnant with my daughter. If you have more than five in an hour I think you're supposed to call the doctor.

I started having them at 18 weeks I rememer I was 18 weeks and went for my u/s and that night I started having them but they weren't painful and were not consistent at all. I am 38 weeks now and I have them every once in a while but the ones I have now are contraction and hurt and at times are very regular then stop. It is normal to have them. I would not worry.

I've had them even before 18 wks, sometimes it was like carrying around a rock in my tummy. Now I'm 24 wks and will continue getting them til the real thing! I would tell your doctor though because they should not be for long periods of time and not close together.

I think it varies a lot when people start getting contactions. Some women don't get any at all, whilst some get them through the whole pregnancy, most are inbetween. My doctor told me it was very important to tell her if I was getting contractions (as occa__sionally the cervix can be contracting at the same time). It's very probably fine but its best to see your doctor.
