Is Losing Your Mucous Plug A Sign That Labour Will Be Soon

Hi I've got 3 days to go before my due date and today I lost what appeared to be my mucous plug. I just wondered whether anyone else has gone into labour shortly after losing their mucous plug? Or might I still be waiting for some time?

I don't know for sure... on A BABY STORY the other day one of the women lost her mucus plug a few hours before going into labor... call your doctor... or google it.

Unfortunatly you can lose your mucus plug and not go into labor for weeks. Alot of my friends lost theirs and didn't go into labor for like 3-5 weeks. It does mean you are dialating though! =] I didn't lose mine until my water broke.

i thought i lost my plug at 36 weeks, but i lost it 14 hours into a 22 hour labor, so i guess it means things are going quicker

I lost mine & was in labour less than 24 hours later.

A lot of ppl don't loose it until they're in delivery or about to go into delivery, but a lot of women loose it a few days/weeks before delivery too. It is also often lost in pieces over a few weeks before delivery, and many times you wont notice this as it just looks like more discharge. Good luck w/ your delivery whenever it happens, which will hopefully be soon for you.

--by the way I'm 36w's tomorrow and have been thinking that I may be loosing mine in pieces for the last 2 weeks so...don't know for sure if I am but I think I maybe...and it's been 2 weeks now.
